lithuania photo diary

This is just a very short photo diary, as I didn't go out that much when I was in Vilnius. Stayed home (how

fascinating), ate

grandma's pie (even more fascinating), listened to the radio (this is just fantastic), drew some sketches (I

have no comment about this one, but I just want to write something in brackets --again--). Went on with my

life, even though I was about 870 miles away from my home in Belgium (Sweet Jesus). I really didn't do

anything special, except celebrate New Year with fireworks, watch it snow for the first time this winter. I

had almost forgotten what snow feels like (not really), and even though there wasn't much of it, I was

freezing to death in my old navy trench coat. Thank god I had brought a couple of warm sweaters, because

otherwise I wouldn't have survived the flight back home. It was quite a pain to pack all of my stuff in my tiny

suitcase, though.

:-) MEOW MEOW MEOW (cat sounds that I'm hearing right now, my neighbors have a lot of cats)

Y'all might be wondering why I applied a black and white effect on some photos (no, it's not because I want

to be a ~hipster~ or something), cos I never really do that. And here's my answer: they look too damn dark,

as there was BARELY any sun in sight during that week (except, of course, on the day when I had to catch

my flight back to Belgium, Murphy's Law), and these pics only looked OK in B&W. Which once again

leads me to my next point- where the hell is the sun when everyone needs it? I freaking <33 the sun. I </3

clouds and rain, but I adore the sun to bits. It can brighten up even the saddest days. Literally. I was thinking

about this during the holiday, and (out of boredom) ended up writing a part of a 'miss-you' letter to my

bestie, the Sun. I'm soo not going to share the full letter with you, because I feel weird about talking to...

things, but it sounded a bit like that other letter/convo I had with that camera about a year ago, which some

of you might remember. OH, AND JUST IN CASE U READ THIS, SUN, I WANT U 2 KNOW I LUV

U AND NOTHING WILL EVAH COME BTWN OUR LURVE ;** <3 <3 <3 Our friendship's been

strong since the moment I first saw you, and my love for you will never die. You're my soul sister, the reason

why I still live. Mi amiga <3 (this must be the post with the highest amount of hearts on my blog ever, broken

record!!) I can't wait to spend my summer with you, BFF.

pink robe

I'm not in Lithuania, chilling in my bright pink dressing gown (super warm and soft, perfect for this weather),

waiting for tomorrow, new year. I cannot believe this year has passed to fast, it seems like only yesterday I

was celebrating 2011 with my family. We're now all gathered around the fireplace, I'm sketching random

things in my sketchbook which I might share with you later, and I'm listening to good old songs, like 'Blue

Orchid' by the White Stripes or Snow by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Speaking of RHCP, I'm beyond

excited for their concert in summer, which I'll be going to! I'm already impatient for summer to come as quick

as possible, because I don't like it when my fingers are numb whenever I go outside, I miss wearing shorts

and crop tops.

Anyway, enjoy your last hours of the year '11! <3
